Reviews/Testimonials

Here we’ve dedicated a page for posting reviews from clients who have adopted from our rescue, utilized our in-home microchipping service, or have used our in-home veterinary technician services. Their honest feedback may aid others in deciding if they would like to move forward as well!

Katelynne had a lovely group of horses plus a hilarious red Doberman boy and a sweet Tortie kitty. Sampson, her very sensitive horse, was initially wary of my neon pink shoes and neon yellow work backpack with all my supplies in it, so I made sure to let him sniff it, inspect it, mouth it a bit, then set it down away from him and let him sniff and inspect me the same. I am a *firm* believer in greeting animals and introducing myself to them (letting them use the ways that they communicate and investigate new people), in order to allow them to become comfortable with my presence in their space, touching them, etc. I will never in a million years just go right in, restrain them, and poke them. That is extraordinarily rude and cruel for no reason, unless in the most dire emergency situations. My way only takes 5-8 extra minutes, and is worth it because it is far better for the animal (and more respectful), which results in no fear and therefore no negative associations with having medical things done.

Crystal’s beautiful Husky/Samoyed mix named Neytiri accidentally slipped past her husband when he went home to let the dogs out after she gave birth to their baby and was still in the hospital. Crystal was absolutely devastated, and began a HUGE campaign to try to find her. She posted everywhere, called everywhere, put flyers up, canvassed areas for hours on end, and became distraught when people stopped posting sightings of her after 15 days.

Come to find out, Neytiri was found by someone 15 days after she went missing, right where she went missing, and that family never contacted the shelter, never looked for any Found posts on all the online websites and Facebook groups, never looked for any flyers at any stores, etc. They simply kept her.

It just so happened by pure chance, that 3 months later, Neytiri escaped THEIR home and ran to the nearby church on a Sunday when it was full of worshippers. They posted pics of her on Facebook seeking her owner, and everyone who had followed Neytiri’s case immediately recognized her and contacted Crystal. But by the time she, myself, and 2 others drove there, she had been caught and brought back “home”. While looking around and knocking on doors around the church, we spotted Neytiri in a window in a house behind the church, and immediately went to their front door. When we knocked and they opened the door, we began explaining who we were and that we had Neytiri’s owner with us. Upon hearing her name, Neytiri came running and bolted out the doorway to us. Unfortunately the large family became extremely aggressive, threatening, and combative, cursing and threatening to kill us, among many other things, and refused to give Crystal her dog despite the overwhelming picture proof she had with her on her phone that it was Neytiri.

We called the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, who sent a deputy out. After hearing everything and being on Crystal’s side, the 15-person family began calling more family to drive over and began threatening us again and starting to surround this single deputy who had no backup. He asked if we had any veterinary records with us or if the dog was microchipped, and unfortunately we didn’t have either form of proof. Which meant he had to make the determination that we had to leave Neytiri there and Crystal would have to take them to court.

We fundraised and prepared over the next day, including hiring a lawyer. Then a good Samaritan took it upon themselves to go to the house where Neytiri was being kept, told them we had a lawyer and raised money for court costs, and already had the court paperwork done and ready to file — then offered them a $100 “reward” for Neytiri’s return and promised we would drop it. They handed her over in a split second.

Crystal got her beloved dog back whom she’d had for 4 years since puppyhood. None of it would have needed to happen if she had been microchipped — which Crystal was just about to have done when she suddenly went into preterm labor and was rushed to the hospital. I immediately went over the next day after Neytiri came home, and microchipped her as well as her sister, to make sure this NEVER happens to them again.

This was such a sweet young Heeler boy! And luckily his Mom Heather had his brother also already registered with NanoChip/FetchID from when he had his done by a veterinarian somewhere else. So they both were able to have the same amazing benefits!
